Intro to Yoga Postures

There are quite a few different yoga postures you can choose from. It is a good idea to take your own level of fitness into consideration. There are some basic postures that you want to start with. Once you have mastered them you can move on to those that are more advanced. With a good variety of them you will never get bored either. Of course you will find some yoga postures you prefer over others and that is fine too.
Sitting with your back straight and your legs crossed is one of the most common yoga postures out there. Most people find that they feel comfortable in this particular position as well. Standing with your feet slightly apart and your hands in the air over your head is another one that is simple enough to start with.
It is important to make sure you complete the various yoga postures accurately. One of the best ways to do this is to watch videos before you do them on your own. You can buy a DVD or you can watch videos on the computer. You can also enroll in a yoga class for beginners. They have excellent instructors that will walk you through the right way to do the various postures. That way you can get the most benefit from them.
